It made me sad when I finished watching Firefly, too. I have a friend at work, David, who told me that "Battlestar Gallactica" (BSG) was good, and so now I have that. And it is. It's good. It's very good sci-fi TV. Well written, good drama, good actors, nice big booms. But it's good the way that "West Wing" was good (I stopped watching after the Pres' daughter was kidnapped... that's a shark-jumper in my book). It's "big" good. BSG is about fleets and governments and the fate of humanity.

Firefly was "Cheeers" in space. No, not a comedy, of course not. And BSG has people-drama and close-quarters activities, too. But what made Firefly so very, very special was that it was all a close up. "This is what we'll look like when we're living in space."

What fun. What dark, interesting, scary, funny, fun.

I await my next TV fetish.
